I know most people would consider this and say "uh, no, that title is reserved for Argentina," but according to at least ONE of the last remaining Auschwitz survivors, Israel is acting in the same fashion as Nazi Germany once did, claiming that the Palestinians are the new Jews. I'm not saying this guy is a self-loathing Jew, but he might be an anti-Semite LOL. No, but forreal though:
"Dr Hajo Meyer, 86, who survived 10 months in the Nazi death camp, spoke out as his 10-day tour of the UK and Ireland – taking in three Scottish venues – got under way. His comments sparked a furious reaction from hardline Jewish lobby groups, with Dr Meyer branded an “anti-Semite” and accused of abusing his position as a Holocaust survivor."
Of course, it's easy to make the assumption that Meyer must be an anti-Semite since we still haven't made it clear whether or not it's anti-Semitic to protest Israel. I think that argument was left open for debate, you know, the "I'm right, you're wrong" kind. Meyer is talking shit about Israel. Israel is a Jewish country. Therefore, Meyer must be an anti-Semite. We can ignore all the reasoning behind Meyer's arguments based on this necessary truth. But let's list some just for the lulz:
Violence against Palestinians
Identifying the Arab problem
Identifying the master race
The missing piece of the puzzle, which Meyer claims is there, is the dehumanization of Palestinians by the state of Israel. You gotta go there yourself to find out if that part is true. But what I'm wondering is, if Israel is Germany, then is the U.S. the new Italy, or Japan? Did Nazi Germany have some sort of sponsor? Is China gonna play the U.S. role this time? Man, I'm getting confused just thinking about it. I mean, what if Germany speaks out against new Germany? Are the Palestinians gonna flee to Vietnam? The parallels are so intense.
Also, according to Helen Thomas, "You cannot criticize Israel in this country and survive." But she might ACTUALLY be an anti-Semite.
